Health problems have plagued our society since the beginning of time, and they will continue to do so. However, you can have a positive effect as you explore the mind-body link between mental health and individual wellness and discover how to provide individuals and communities the resources and support they need to live healthy lives.

As a student in UW-Superior’s public health program, you will investigate health and environmental issues as they relate to the global community. You’ll learn about the interconnectedness of organizations, resources and people in this area.

*This program is a concentration of the Physical Education degree and is comprehensive and does not require a minor.

Program Description

Through a concentration in public health at UW-Superior, you will:

  •  Learn how to build community partnerships and coalitions to identify and solve health problems
  •  Examine health education theories and create professional health promotion plans based on research and theory
  •  Understand addictions and the roles of family, prevention, intervention and treatment
  •  Study nutrition and how it impacts overall health

UW-Superior’s public health curriculum has been aligned with the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) national standards.
