The Director of Instruction Add-On Certificate (DPI 5010) at UWL is a fully online, one-term cohort program designed for educators who already hold or are eligible for the Wisconsin DPI Principal (5051) license and want to further their leadership development. This 6-credit pathway focuses on the additional competencies needed to support district-level instructional leadership, curriculum development, and collaborative teaching practices.

Through cohort-based learning, practical experiences, and coursework grounded in current leadership standards, participants deepen their understanding of instructional systems and how to guide continuous improvement. Graduates are prepared to take on expanded administrative and instructional leadership roles, support schoolwide curriculum initiatives, and work effectively with teachers, staff, and district leaders to improve student outcomes.
