The bachelor of science in professional studies, beginning fall semester 2024, is a degree completion program ideal for a variety of students. The major is designed for students who have completed a two-year technical associate degree or students who have completed a significant number of college credits and wish to complete a bachelor’s degree.
Students in this program will select concentrations based on their areas of interest. UWEC’s professional studies program is designed to build on your experience — providing the depth employers are looking for in critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills.
Program Description
Students must have completed at least 30 credits to enter the program. Students with a completed Associate of Applied Science degree from a Wisconsin Technical College System institution can transfer up to 60 technical credits toward the Professional Studies major.
Program length: 2-3 years, depending on credits upon entry into the program.
What concentrations can professional studies students select?
Professional Communication,
Health and Wellbeing,
Social and Behavioral Sciences,
Natural and Physical Sciences,
and Uniquely designed concentration to integrate existing coursework.
Career Opportunities
Opens doors to your future. In February 2024, the Wisconsin Policy Forum projected that between now and 2030, more than half of jobs paying $50,000 annually will require a bachelor’s degree. Earning this degree not only unlocks new career paths, but it can also help you advance within the career you already have. Upon graduation, you can enter or advance in a wide range of positions, especially those that value critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills.
Admissions
Students typically apply as transfer or readmit students as 30 credits are required to enter the program. Please see https://www.uwec.edu/admissions/ for your admit type and application information.
