The UWSP Psychology Department offers a fully online pathway for students with busy schedules who need time or location flexibilities to complete their degrees. Online courses are taught year-round by faculty with extensive training and experience in teaching online. The program emphasizes knowledge of human thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, as well as its application in real world settings. Coursework helps students build important career skills, such as critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration.

Program Description

Our online courses are taught asynchronously, which offers maximum flexibility for students who are employed full-time, have families, or live outside of central Wisconsin. Online classes are offered in fall, spring, and summer semesters, so that students can complete their degrees sooner. Online instructors frequently interact with students whether by offering reminders, promoting discussion, or helping with assignments.

Students develop a well-rounded education in both the scientific and applied aspects of psychology. Our graduates enter the workforce in a range of settings (such as in business or human services) or continue to a graduate program (such as in counseling or neuroscience).

Career Opportunities

Psychology is an excellent major for students who are seeking a career that involves working with people in their communities.

Whether you are completing a first Bachelor’s to be more competitive on the job market, seeking a second Bachelor’s to pursue a new career goal, or preparing for graduate education, our program provides outstanding training that can help you to achieve your goals.

Psychology majors typically pursue careers in applied psychology (such as human resource specialists or career counselors), behavioral research (such as statistical analysts or market researchers), neuroscience (such as lab technicians or clinical research assistants), or human services (such as licensed counselors or school psychologists). If you are seeking a career working with people, a psychology degree can help you to achieve your goals.
