Create Healthier Communities

We focus on prevention, not treatment.

Due to the pandemic, the need for community health educators is even clearer. That’s why we created this program as the first of its kind in the region. Plus, there are multiple paths to complete a degree in Community Health Education. Courses can be taken in person at any of our four campuses, a mix of in person and virtual, or completely online. You have the flexibility to earn your degree your way.

Program Description

As part of the growing array of UW-Green Bay health professions programs, this 120-credit program offers a curriculum grounded on understanding the intersection of governmental and non-governmental healthcare organizations and how economics and policy influence health.  Students will examine a variety of health issues as they explore the social determinants of health and the impact on health.  The program engages students via high impact practices including a semester-long practicum at a community agency, arranged by the faculty.  Aligned with the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing competencies, graduates will be able to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate health education programs for a variety of populations.
